iProof Systems announces version
7.35 of PowerRIP X is shipping, including support for the Epson Stylus PRO 3800
PowerRIP X users who already own a copy can
obtain a FREE update to this latest version 7.35 with
added support for the Stylus Pro 3800. The 3800 will
be included in all full desktop versions, and can also
be purchase separately for $199 as an SP version.
PowerRIP X is the only Mac RIP in the world supporting
Epson's newly developed ultramodern photographic screening module for the
3800. This new screening technology uses a
radical new algorithm for determining precise dot
placement, resulting in an extreme level of
photographic dot placement. This produces extremely
fine photographic prints even in bi-directional and
lower resolution print modes. The screening
compensates for various ink densities between
resolutions, allowing for a single ICC profile to be
used per media type.
All other RIPs sold by Epson for
the Pro 3800 only use a CMYK screening module developed originally for
the 4800 printer and do not access this new screening
module in PostScript mode. PowerRIP X is the only Mac
RIP with the new screening capability for the 3800.
iProof is offering a FREE ICC
profiling service to all PowerRIP X 3800 users. We
will profile any new paper type for free measuring 4913
color swatches for each ICC profile. More than triple the usual
number of colors read, increasing color accuracy for
even the most critical of photographers and designers. Epson ColorBase
utility is
available from iProof Systems as well, to balance your
printer back to factory standards, if it happens to
drift slightly, which is very unlikely.

PowerRIP announces FREE ICC
profiling for the Epson Stylus PRO 3800
PowerRIP users who buy the PowerRIP X for
the Epson Stylus PRO 3800 will receive FREE ICC
profiles for any paper type they wish to use with
their Stylus 3800 printer. The only restrictions are
the user must supply at least 20 letter or A4 size sheets
of the paper to be profiled to
iProof, and the paper must be compatible with Epson Ultrachrome inks. Users can supply as many different
paper types as they wish. iProof will make profiles
measuring over 4000 colors. Doing more measurements
produces an ICC profile of higher quality. Most
profiling packages available to end users can not read
in as many measurements and therefore end users can
not make a profile of this accuracy themselves.
Professional users interested in
obtaining higher quality on their Stylus printers have
purchased ICC profiling software costing thousands of
dollars, and then realized that making good profiles
takes time and experience. FREE ICC Profiling from iProof
will solve this problem and end users will not have to
spend thousands on their own profiling software. Color
output varies less than 2 delta e units on different
Epson 3800 printers. For accuracy of less than one
delta e unit Free Epson ColorBase software can be used
with a spectrophotometer. If you buy a Stylus PRO
3800 and PowerRIP X there is no need now to
purchase ICC printer profiling software. For more

European proofing systems FOGRA colour bars available
from www.FOGRA.org
can be added. iProof's colour bars can be customize by

iProof announces a NEW print
queue control feature for its OSX CUPS based PowerRIP
The 7.29 version of
the PowerRIP X Utility has a new control named
"Define Printer Settings" This new feature
allows a user to specify their own custom printer
defaults from any of the PPD choices in the PowerRIP X
PPD. Users can now create a printer and specify the
default paper type, resolution, or ICC profile they
want to use at print time at the RIP server. There is
no limit to the number of PowerRIP X Print queues that
can be created. A unique feature of a PowerRIP X
printer or print queue is it can be overridden by any
client printing to it on a per job basis without
having to reset the queue settings at the PowerRIP X
server. Flexible print queues that can be controlled
as needed by any of 100 clients on the network, but
only for the single client's print file without
interfering with anyone else's print settings. This
update is free to all existing PowerRIP X users.
