Note to existing PowerRIP version 7  users

PowerRIP X™ version 7.52 is the final build of version 7, it runs with 10.5, 10.4, 10.3 and 10.2. All known fixes for all applications are in this final build of version 7, version 7.52 as of April 2008. The new version is version 8 and all changes and new printers will be added to version 8. There is a charge to upgrade to version 8.

Note to existing PowerRIP X users

If you already have PowerRIP X installed, simply download the newest version and it will automatically update the necessary files. Then restart and recreate your printer to take advantage of the new features. You will not need to reactivate your software. If you are adding a new printer within your product category, PRO or LF, you do not have to reactivate either. Simply load the software, restart and add the new printer and any existing old printers you wish to use again

Version 7.52, listed here for download, is for Mac OS 10.5 10.4, 10.3 and 10.2.  

The PowerRIP X is the only Mac RIP in the world supporting Epson's newly developed screening module for the Pro 3800, 4800, 780, 9800 printers . Version 8 adds support for the 4880, 7880, and 9880 printers with Epson screening.

Version 7 Will not validate with a Version 5 or Version 6 Product ID Code.

Downloads: This is Version 7.52 you can download and use it as Upgrade, a Final Install, or as a DEMO, . 
You do not need to activate the DEMO to try it out. If this is your first time using the product reading the PDF User's Guide included with each download helps. Basic printer setup is covered on  pages 11 to 35 of the manual, and if you are having issues  please call us we are happy to help.

NOTE: Complete detailed instructions for USB, TCP/IP Ethernet and other printing issues are in a PDF guide in the download.

Getting started is simple
Download the printer or printers you need, restart, and just create a printer in the Print and faxes(10.5), Printer Setup Utility (10.4 and 10.3), or in Print Center(10.2). Follow the directions in the PDF user's guide file for your printer connection USB, Ethernet, or USB to parallel. See pages 11 thru 35 of the PDF users guide for specifics on adding a printer.

 Add a USB printer connection with PowerRIP X on 10.5:

 

1)
Turn your printer on.
2)
Open the "Print & Fax" found in the System preferences
3)
In the Printer List window click the plus sign "+" under the list of printers.
4)
Choose your "Default" for USB printers or "Appletalk" for Epson Appletalk cards prior to the 4800 printer
5)
In the "Name" window, slightly change the name to be unique, perhaps add "RIP" to the front of it.
6)
Go to the "Print Using" window and select "iProof PowerRIP X"
7)
Skip the "Location" window, unless you need to tell others the printer's location in the building

In "Print Using" choose "Select a driver to use". Now type "power" next to the magnifying glass.

Choose your printer's PowerRIP X PPD from the list below

Click add and your printer will added to the list.

*SPECIAL Instructions for the Epson Stylus Photo R800, 1400, R1800, PRO 3800

For the following printers, Open the PowerRIP X Utility and go to "File" and down to "Add New Printer"
Only for the Epson Stylus Photo R800, 1400, R1800, PRO 3800

If you have installed the Epson driver for the Epson Stylus Photo R800, 1400, R1800, PRO 3800 and created an Epson printer you will see it on the list. Select your Epson printer and then choose;
"Add PowerRIPX Printer"

Create a name for your PowerRIPX printer, and hit OK ,and OK again. 
Your printer has just been added

 

 Add a USB printer connection with PowerRIP X on 10.4:

 

1)
Turn your printer on.
2)
Open the "Printer Setup Utility"
3)
In the Printer List window click "Add".
4)
Choose your "USB" or "Bonjour" printer
5)
In the "Name" window, slightly change the name to be unique.
6)
Go to the "Print Using" window and select "iProof PowerRIP X"
7)
In the "Model" window select your printer.

8)

Click add and your printer will added to the list.

 

 Add a USB printer connection with PowerRIP X on 10.2 and 10.3:

 

1)
Turn your printer on.
2)
Open the "Sharing Folder" located in "System Preferences."
3)
Turn "Printer Sharing" On, Off, and back On again. Do this two times.
4)
Leave Printer Sharing on and close the "Sharing Folder."
5)
Open "Print Center," in Applications/Utilities.
6)
Select and KEEP DOWN the "Option Key" as you double click "Add Printer."
7)
When the screen changes release the Option Key.

8)

Pick "Advanced" at the bottom of the first drop down window. If you do not see Advanced in the list, repeat step 6 and hold the option key down longer.

9)
In the "Device" window, choose your Epson Stylus printer model.
10)
In "Device Name" personalize the printer name.
11)
In Device URI do nothing, this is your printer's USB address.
12)
In Printer Model, choose iProof PowerRIP X.
13)
PPDs will appear, select the one for your printer.
14)
Click Add Printer.
15)
In File/Page Setup choose the printer you just created.

16)

In File/Print, in the drop down window under "Copies and Pages" choose your Resolution and Media type.

This Version 7.52  supports all previous features. Version 7.52 is the final version of 7 and as of its release in April, 2008 has no known issues. Further development will be on version 8
